International and National Conferences
The ECLT Foundation believes that when committed stakeholders come together, their awareness can lead to real change. We take active part and convene the people who can make change happen.
The ECLT Foundation sponsored this conference in Agriculture September 4–6, 2012, supporting the Government of Malawi and the ILO in bringing together more than 350 participants around the theme “End Child Labour: Our Children, Our Future.”
Global March Against Child Labour
The ECLT Foundation has actively participated in conferences of this worldwide network of trade unions, teachers’ and civil society organisations that work together toward the shared development goals of eliminating and preventing all forms of child labour and ensuring access by all children to free, meaningful and good quality public education.
The Stop Child Labour Campaign organized an international conference in Uganda sponsored by the Hivos Foundation of the Netherlands. The ECLT Foundation and 125 participants from roughly 25 countries signed the Kampala Declaration showing their commitment to creating and strengthening Child Labour Free Zones in their own areas.
Global Conferences on Child Labour
The ECLT Foundation has participated in World Congresses on Child Labour, which provide an opportunity for governments, social partners, and civil society to assess and step up global efforts against child labour – especially its worst forms. The most recent meeting was in Brasilia in 2013 and offered online live access to stakeholders around the world.
